六月三十日,稻香開了。

七月一日,放假,稻香超多人。我帶左本abstract algebra去睇。

重新再讀abstract algebra,次序是ring、 field、group,呢個序好合理,因為ring係成日都見、成日都有嘅野。

由arithmetic開始,讀primes、unique factorization同euclidean algorithm。因為有除數,之後讀classes、mod同congruences。好了,以Z為基礎,進入ring,commutative ring同ring with identity,仲有solve quadratic equations成日出現的integral domain (即係無zero divisor) ,最後係field。不過Z已經唔係field,因為無乘的inverse。

subring -- 減同乘兩個operations都係closed就得,唔使check所有axioms,好聰明。

跟著是isomorphism同homomorphism,最難係找出兩個話可能係isomorphic的東西之間的function,再證明佢係isomorphism。不過,這似乎是一貫的數學難題。

七月二日,讀到polymonial ring了。

一個polynomial,ax^n+...,如果a係一個ring的element,到底x係咩呢?點解佢地可以相乘?之後就引入polynomial ring R[x],即係R係R[x]的subring,而x就在R外面,但在R[x]中。

兩個polynomials的gcd同integers的gcd一樣,兩個polynomials都可以用euclidean algorithm找gcd,咩係irredicible呢?就係analogous to integers中的primes了。讀得好開心 ^.^

我的目標,係睇到點解五次方程無general solution,即係galois theory。
